Subscribe for free to receive new posts and support my work.</p></div><form class="subscription-widget-subscribe"><input type="email" class="email-input" name="email" placeholder="Type your email&#8230;" tabindex="-1"><input type="submit" class="button primary" value="Subscribe"><div class="fake-input-wrapper"><div class="fake-input"></div><div class="fake-button"></div></div></form></div></div><p>&#8220;I just don&#8217;t feel like myself.&#8221;</p><p>Not necessarily sick.<br>Not doing anything obviously wrong.</p><p>But also not feeling <em>good</em>.</p><div><hr></div><p>Low energy.<br>Trouble sleeping.<br>Feeling on edge or easily overwhelmed.<br>Muscle tension.<br>Cravings that seem hard to control.</p><p>And often, it gets brushed off as:</p><p><em>&#8220;Maybe this is just part of getting older.&#8221;</em></p><div><hr></div><p>But what if it&#8217;s not?</p><p>What if your body is actually trying to tell you something?</p><div><hr></div><p>One of the first things I  look at when I hear these symptoms is something incredibly foundational&#8230;</p><p>Magnesium.</p><div><hr></div><p>Magnesium is involved in <strong>hundreds of processes in the body</strong>.</p><p>It plays a role in:</p><ul><li><p>energy production</p></li><li><p>calming the nervous system</p></li><li><p>muscle relaxation</p></li><li><p>sleep quality</p></li><li><p>hormone balance</p></li></ul><p>And yet&#8212;it&#8217;s one of the most common deficiencies I see.</p><div><hr></div><p>Here&#8217;s why&#8230;</p><p>Modern life tends to deplete magnesium faster than we replenish it.</p><p>Things like:</p><ul><li><p>chronic stress</p></li><li><p>high sugar or processed foods</p></li><li><p>caffeine</p></li><li><p>even regular exercise</p></li></ul><p>&#8230;all increase your body&#8217;s demand for magnesium.</p><div><hr></div><p>So even if you feel like you&#8217;re doing everything &#8220;right&#8221;&#8230;</p><p>Your body might still be running low.</p><div><hr></div><p>This becomes even more important in midlife.</p><p>As our bodies shift, our resilience changes&#8212;and the margin for depletion gets smaller.</p><p>Which means the same habits that once felt fine&#8230;</p><p>&#8230;can start to feel a little harder.</p><div><hr></div><p>So what does low magnesium actually look like?</p><p>It doesn&#8217;t always show up in obvious ways.</p><p>Instead, it can feel like:</p><ul><li><p>difficulty falling or staying asleep</p></li><li><p>feeling &#8220;wired but tired&#8221;</p></li><li><p>muscle tightness or tension</p></li><li><p>headaches</p></li><li><p>irritability or anxiety</p></li><li><p>low energy, especially in the afternoon</p></li></ul><div><hr></div><p>And again&#8212;these are often normalized.</p><p>But just like we talked about in my last letter&#8230;</p><p>&#128073; these are signals, not just symptoms to ignore</p><div><hr></div><p>The good news is, supporting your body doesn&#8217;t have to be complicated.</p><p>Simple shifts can make a meaningful difference.</p><p>Things like:</p><ul><li><p>incorporating magnesium-rich foods</p></li><li><p>being mindful of stress (even small moments of calm)</p></li><li><p>and in some cases, using the right form of magnesium</p></li></ul><div><hr></div><p>This is something I look at often when working with women, because it&#8217;s such a foundational piece.</p><p>When your body has what it needs&#8230;</p><p>Sleep can improve.<br>Energy can feel more stable.<br>Your nervous system can start to feel more supported.</p><div><hr></div><p>And you begin to feel a little more like yourself again.</p><div><hr></div><p>&#128154; If this resonated with you, I&#8217;d love to hear&#8212;have you noticed any of these signs?</p><p>You can always reply and share what&#8217;s been going on with your health lately. length="0" type="image/jpeg"/><content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There was a time when I started to notice subtle shifts in how I felt.</p><p>Less energy.<br>More brain fog.<br>Workouts that felt harder than they used to.<br>Sleep that didn&#8217;t leave me feeling rested.</p><p>And like so many women, the thought crept in:</p><p><em>&#8220;Maybe this is just part of getting older.&#8221;</em></p><p>It&#8217;s something we&#8217;ve been told&#8212;directly or indirectly&#8212;our entire lives.</p><p>That fatigue, hormone changes, weight gain, mood swings&#8230;<br>are just things we&#8217;re supposed to accept.</p><p>Push through.<br>Deal with.<br>Normalize.</p><p>But what if that&#8217;s not actually true?</p><div><hr></div><p>At some point, I started to question that narrative.</p><p>Not in a dramatic, overnight kind of way&#8212;but in a quiet, curious way.</p><p>What if my body wasn&#8217;t <em>working against me</em>&#8230;<br>but instead trying to communicate something?</p><p>What if the fatigue wasn&#8217;t random&#8230;<br>but a signal?</p><p>What if the brain fog, the low energy, the feeling of being &#8220;off&#8221;<br>wasn&#8217;t just aging&#8212;but information?</p><div><hr></div><p>That shift in perspective changed everything.</p><p>Because instead of accepting how I felt&#8230;<br>I started getting curious about <em>why</em> I felt that way.</p><p>And what I&#8217;ve learned&#8212;both personally and through working with other women&#8212;is this:</p><p>&#10024; So many of the symptoms we normalize are actually <strong>addressable</strong><br>&#10024; The body is incredibly intelligent&#8212;it gives us clues<br>&#10024; And when we support it properly, it can respond in powerful ways</p><div><hr></div><p>This is where simple, foundational health really matters.</p><p>Not extremes.<br>Not overwhelm.<br>Not doing everything at once.</p><p>But understanding things like:</p><ul><li><p>your minerals</p></li><li><p>your stress load</p></li><li><p>your hormones</p></li><li><p>your nutrient status</p></li></ul><p>And making small, intentional shifts that actually support your body.</p><div><hr></div><p>Because here&#8217;s what I want you to know:</p><p>You are not meant to just &#8220;get through&#8221; this phase of life.</p><p>You are not meant to feel like a lesser version of yourself.</p><p>And you are absolutely not meant to settle for &#8220;this is just aging.&#8221;</p><div><hr></div><p>What if this season of your life&#8230;<br>is actually your opportunity to feel <strong>stronger, clearer, and more confident than ever before?</strong></p><p>Not by doing more&#8212;<br>but by understanding your body on a deeper
